Cabinet approves Project on Developing Solid Waste Treatment Plant in UB


The Cabinet held a regular session yesterday and decided to transfer unfinished accommodations for 1562 households (Gobi-Altai-120, Dundgobi-20, Orkhon-315, Khuvsgul-135 and Ulaanbaatar-972), which were previously registered by the State Housing Corporation of Mongolia, to Development Bank of Mongolia (DBM). The Board of DBM has been ordered to settle the required fund of MNT 54.5 billion and complete the construction within this year. The Minister of Construction and Urban Development Badelkhan Khavdislam informed that the construction is expected to be finished by November 2018. • As of the end of 2017, the implementation of 2016-2020 Action Plan of the Government of Mongolia stands at 44.6 percent. Specifically: • Policy on overcoming economic difficulties 53.9 • Policy on ensuring sustainable economic growth 39.8 • Social policy 46 • Policy on environment and green development 41.2 • Governance policy 47.2 Furthermore, a decision was made to discuss the loan agreement of the Project on Developing Solid Waste Treatment Plant in Ulaanbaatar with the related Parliamentary Standing Committees. Consequently with the project implementation, waste collection, transportation, recy cling and disposal services will be upgraded and the capacity of waste dumps is expected to increase by 4 million tons. This allows to reduce greenhouse gas emission by 18 tons and recycle 100 thousand tons of construction waste. In addition, under the auspices of the Prime Minister and National Council for Children, “For Children” trade fair will be organized annually in the third week of May with an aim to develop domestic production for children, engrain them to use domestic products and strengthen cooperation of private sectors. Moreover, horse racing has been banned until June 1, 2018. With an aim to restrict the spread of FMD infections, livestock migration has also been restrained in FMD discovered aimags and soums.
